Remembering Amelia Hobart
Amelia, a bright 19-year-old with a passion for nursing, brought happiness to all.
Her life was tragically cut short in a fiery crash caused by TWO drunk drivers.

#Forever19
Our daughter was just 19 years old when taken from us.
A proud graduate of Poolesville High School, an honors student, and a sophomore at Towson University, she was studying to become a nurse — a career dedicated to helping others.
On November 29, 2024, Amelia was a rear-seat passenger in a car driven by someone under the influence. Their vehicle was struck by another impaired driver. Two reckless choices made by others ended Amelia’s life — a beautiful life, stolen forever.
As parents, friends, and a community, we carry this unimaginable loss with us every day. But Amelia’s story cannot end here. Her life, her compassion, and her dreams demand action.
We beg you:
-
Think before you drive impaired.
-
Think before you let someone else.
-
Don’t risk your life. Don’t risk someone else’s.
You have the power to redefine your generation. Choose responsibility. Choose leadership. Choose life.
Please, let Amelia’s story be the reason you stop, think, and make safe choices — so that you and those you love can celebrate milestones with joy, not be remembered at a memorial.
Move with MADD
We are Team #RememberingAmeliaHobart, walking in loving memory of our daughter Amelia Hobart - a vibrant 19-year-old college student with dreams of becoming a nurse.
Amelia was a source of joy to everyone who knew her.
Her life was tragically cut short when the vehicle she was riding was struck by a drunk driver and became engulfed in flames.
We walk to honor her spirit, to raise awareness, and to help ensure no other family has to endure such a heartbreaking loss. Join us in supporting Mothers Against Drunk Driving as we move forward with purpose, love, and remembrance.
If you can’t walk with us, you can still support the mission by donating to our team or to my individual fundraising page.
Your support truly means so much. Together, we honor victims, support families, and help make our roads safer for everyone.
Carry Amelia’s Story
Redefine Your Generation
Too often, drinking and impaired driving are treated as a “normal” part of teenage and young adult life. But there is nothing normal about risking lives — nothing normal about families shattered by preventable choices.
This generation has the power to break the cycle. To say no to underage drinking. To refuse to get behind the wheel impaired — or let a friend do the same. To create a culture where courage means protecting each other, not endangering each other.
Redefining your generation starts with one decision: to choose responsibility, to choose leadership, and to choose life.
